It is in the heart of the center of Seville. Wandering around its streets is quite a joy. Without searching much, you will find beautiful churches, buildings with a lot of history, shops with plenty of charm…
What is your favorite thing about your job at Plácido y Grata?
I always say that coffee is my greatest passion and, besides that, my job. Plácido y Grata allows me to connect with dozens of people daily while doing what I like the most. I appreciate it when someone who has never placed much importance on coffee, keeps coming back until he eventually gets hooked on it. When clients come again, they tell you they have been reading and watching videos and ask for advice.

Most of them are delighted. People appreciate that everything is really well thought of and done with a lot of care.

Any cultural spaces in the city that you would recommend?
Mrs. Pop in Alameda de Hércules has open mic shows, impros and concerts all week long.
What is the best way to discover Seville?
Walk into a bar that doesn’t stand out, get yourself right there where you get the attention of the eldest gentleman in the bar and let him come up to talk to you.
Can you tell us about any secret places you will never find in travel guides?
I don’t know if it’s exactly secret, but many Sevillians didn’t know about it: Plaza de Santa Marta, near the cathedral. A rather small square with orange trees, a stone cross in the middle, and a convent. Many Sevillians mistake the Plaza de San Andrés for Santa Marta because the religious Brotherhood of Santa Marta departs from there during Holy Week.
What is your favorite time of the year in Seville? What is so inspiring about it?
Spring in Seville is all that is right. It’s pure joy, colors, light and atmosphere, the festivities.
Does Seville change much from day to night?
Pretty much. I can think of how different it is walking around the Avenida de la Constitución during the day, with all the hustle and bustle, the shops, the tram, and the solemnity that one can sense at night, with the play of lights and shadows that the lighting does in the cathedral.

What is so striking about Plácido y Grata is how the traditional Andalusian architecture of the building has been preserved and combined with a modern and elegant flair. The open areas that make the space feel quiet and cozy.

A quiet neighborhood in the heart of the city, close to the main tourist attractions and shopping areas in the city center. Right next door, we have the main shopping streets in Seville, such as Tetuán and Sierpes. Then there is also the notable Museum of Fine Arts, one of the greatest painting collections in Spain.
What is your favorite thing about your job at Plácido y Grata?
I love dealing with customers: catering to their needs when they book their stay, direct interaction when they arrive at the hotel, suggesting places they can visit, and organizing excursions, routes, or activities in the city.
What do the guests think of the hotel ? What is their impression?
Once they arrive at Plácido y Grata, our guests are amazed by its style and architecture. I think they already have an image in their head of how it will be when they see pictures on the website during the booking process. When they arrive at the hotel, they are even more surprised by the spaces and the décor. They also love the calmness and all the services we offer.

Plaza de España, is a place that surprises everyone who visits it for its distinctive semicircular shape, its light and colors.
Any cultural spaces in the city that you would recommend?
I would recommend quite a unique place, the Chaotic Bookstore. In addition to the bookstore, they organize many activities, such as monthly workshops, book presentations, and they run a book club.
What is the best way to discover Seville?
The best way is on foot, walking around the many alleys, discovering plazas and nooks. This city is very comfortable to walk since distances are never too long.
Can you tell us about any secret places you will never find in travel guides?
Calle Regina, a street full of small alternative shops and many places that offer a varied gastronomy.
What is your favorite time of the year in Seville? What is so inspiring about it?
My favorite time of the year is spring, during Easter. Enjoying the processions, the smell of incense and orange blossom, and the atmosphere that can be sensed in the streets.
Does Seville change much from day to night?
What changes the most from day to night in Seville are the lights and colors. If you think it looks charming during the day, at night, with the illuminated monuments and bridges, it feels even more special.
